Blond highlights on a guy?

I'm a 20 year old guy who's kind of tired with the same old hair style....

I was thinking about cutting my hair like a usually do but maybe put in some blond highlights?

I have short, dirty blond hair and a oval face... I usually do a number 1 fade on the sides and back and leave the top really short and just mess it up with some gel... but I dunno, I kind of wanted to try something new but I'm afraid it won't fit me... I'm no preppy guy or metrosexual and don't really want to come across like that... but at the same time I think it would be a nice change, especially for the summer... but blond on dirty blond? Is that a good choice? And what's your opinions on guys getting their hair highlighted?

Blonde highlights with dirty blonde hair would certainly look sun-kissed, but be sure to tell your hair dresser you want it to blend in, and look natural. You don't want the spikey tip look like in the nsync days haha. but i'm sure it will look fine, and really good. bring in a picture if you'd like, just to make sure that the dresser knows what you're asking for.

Just grow your hair to about a shaggy chin length. It's in and certainly looks better on everyone.

Go for it! Alot of guys look hot with blonde highlights, in fact, i dunno if I've ever seen a guy with blonde highlights that I thought looked bad. Besides, whats the worst that could happen? You don't like, then dye it back! Or, you could try it yourself first with a cheap at home kit thats only temporary so you know how it looks! Good luck!

Personally, I think dying hair and piercings etc etc isn't for guys. Guys aren't supposed to be pretty =) I'm sure you look fine like you are, besides, highlights are obvious and fake looking, ack.

If you dye it and don't like it, you can always dye it back so no biggie.

In my opinion if you are dirty blond, blond would look great with your hair. Though remember not to overpower the dark in your hair. A mixture of colors is a great look with short hair! If you have long enough hair in the front ask your hair dresser if they can try to spike it a bit too. Try using some of that gel to slick it back (but not too much). Good luck with your decision.
