Hair straightening questions!?

I have medium length dirty blond hair. I use a hair straightener when i have time and it seems to really help to keep my hair smooth and tangle free all day.

How many times a week (or every day?) do most girls straighten thier hair? Should I use the electic iron with dry or damp hair? Would it be better to use a little hairspray or moose at the same time? Any tips would be great.

I wash my hair and wait until it is completely dry before I straighten it. Wet hair is more likely to burn and dry out. I use a leave in straightening product and that helps keep it straight and frizz free. Don't use hair spray until after you've straightened so that your hair and the flat iron won't get sticky. I don't straighten every day because it really can wreck your hair. I don't wash my hair every day either because it drys out that way as well.

well dont wash ur hair everyday maybe 3x a week 4 at the most spray lightly before straighting try and comb then blow dry you want ur hair completely dry (this will get you hair straighter) A lot of girls straighter there hair. You can use moose but do it when you finish washing it. Umm.... when you do your hair use a comb as guidence so you won't burn ur scalp.

dont use the straightener when you have damp or wet hair, and dont use products at the same time. it will fry your hair. as for frequency, try not to do it every day..despite how smooth it looks, you really are damaging your hair.

i suggest you to do it once a week maximum because of getting split end hair!and use it after u dried your hair.if u like u can use hairspray little bit after you're done but i recommend you to use Smooth-Intense Anti-Frizz Serum or cream from l'oreal.

do not straiten hair with an electric straightener when your hair is damp. Make sure you wash it good and brush it everyday.

I have kinda curly hair. I straighten it when it's dry, but I don't blow it dry cuz that makes it too frizzy. So, let it dry over night, or wear your hair curly one day, then the next day straighten it. But no matter what you should put some light gel in your hair while it's wet. It will make it easier to straighten and for it to stay like that without getting frizzy or curling back up. Also, maybe put a little pomade in your hair after you've straightened it. It gives your ends separation for a better effect, and makes it shiny and frizz free.

never EVER use a streightener on wet/damp hair! it will completly fry it! and i would say stregithen it every other day. and use a hair product such as CHI silk infusion to keep ur hair healthy and make sure it int fried.

don't use any electric iron it will damage Ur hair by giving it broken ends just wash and treat your hair and use hair spray or moose better yet use moisturizer

I starighten my hair everyday. You should use the ceramic ones with bristles in one side because it helps your hair detangle in the iron better! Do not EVER straighten your hair while it`s wet or even damp because it damages it even more and it turns out to be really bad anyway because when it`s wet/damp, it doesnt work well.

They make a really nice hair straightner, you can find it by the perm stuff it is fairly cheap too, it costs about 6 dollars and I use it on my hair every six months and it is sooo much easier than having to use the electric iron and a lot less damaging. You should really think about giving it a try, its super easy just apply to hair keep it straight for up to 30 minutes (I think) and then rinse out, use the conditioner they send with it then enjoy your silky smooth hair for 6 months, then redo to keep new hair growing in smooth.

Well I will wash my hair everday and wear it like that one week.Then on saturday wash it good with dandruff shampoo and then at night straighten it,and I live it in for 3-5 days and it works.Then I'll go another week waring it natural(i have curly hair)then on saturday repeat straighteneing!try geting using pink moisturizer,and this stuff called Liv works super good!

most flat irons need to be used on dry hair with something on it to protect it from the heat.

medium lenght i'm thinking bra strap. how thick of a ponytail when dry?

super thick - 5 drops

thick - 4 drops

and so on. rub drops in hand to emulsify then dab on midlength to ends then fingercomb from roots to ends. this way not too much gets in roots to make them greasy looking.

2 times a week is plenty.

shampoo every other day to every 3 days for thicker hair ( i have 3 clients who shampoo once a week and it's o.k. - i know it sounds gross).

if you feel like your roots look greasy try this trick; powder on cotton ball then pat your roots with it and put your head upside down and zap with a blowdryer.
