you can always try dying your hair - lighter or darker - for a safe change. you could also try styling it different by putting it up, having a side part, or wearing a headband!!! (my friend, SF, wears one all the time and gets compliment because she wears unique ones in green, polka-dot, striped, and patterned -- she buys them from nordstrom bp, urban outfitters, street markets in nyc, old navy, abercrombie, and delia's) ask your local hairstylist what she thinks is best. but remember, if you want something outrageous, they will not be extreme because they might run the risk that you will not like them and not come back.

I'm not quite understanding your question, but if you dont know, extensions should be 100% human hair. A good beauty supply store should carry a wide selection of brands, textures, colors, and styles. They're a bit expensive, depending on length and quality, and range from $25 to $50 a pack. For a full head of extensions, you'll need two packs. There are lots of colors to choose from, just take someone with you to help match. Make sure you get the correct hair texture (fine, medium, coarse).

Keep in mind how expensive (glue ins are cheapest starting at $50 to glue in, not including price of hair - to fusions which start around $200 not including price of hair) extensions are and how long you plan to wear them. There's a lot of upkeep involved and it's not wash and go like regular hair...you'll have to either flat iron or curl the hair to match it to your natural hair every day.
